Toothless Wonder!

We had a very big week this week...our Sammy lost her two bottom teeth! They had been a little loose over the last month or so, but didn't seem like they would be coming out anytime soon. But on Wednesday night in the bathtub Sammy & Alex were playing tug-a-war with the washclothe in their mouths. All of a sudden I hear a scream. I rush in to find Sammy holding her mouth and Alex hiding underneath the washclothe. Her mouth was bleeding and a tooth was somewhere in the bathtub. Sad to say, but my first priority was to find the tooth & then I helped Sam. After calming down she was very excited that one tooth was gone! And Alex was a little stunned that he had done it!

But the excitement doesn't end there. The next day we were at the park playing & Sammy came running over complaining that her other loose tooth hurt. It was bleeding a little so I tried to wipe the blood away & out came the other tooth. Sammy didn't even know it had happened. She is very excited to be grown up enough to loose teeth and has loved the visits from the Tooth Fairy. We can't believe that our little girl is so big! It really was quite the milestone for us!

Projects

With a new baby on the way I am going crazy with projects. In September I refinished a dresser for George and I...the black one and one for Alex and Sammy. I don't think I want to do that kind of project again for a while. But I am really happy about how they turned out. Now it's time to do the other projects on my list that don't involve painting or sanding. :)

I am getting bigger!

The was taken a few weeks ago, so the tummy is even bigger. I can't believe how fast time has flown by! The little baby is moving around like crazy inside. George and I sat and watch my stomach move & form to her. It was fun...it had been a while since we have done that. I only have 10 weeks left and so much more to do. I ordered my chair for the nursery and am so excited about that. Now if only I could get Alex completely potty trained and into a big boy bed, decorate Sam & Alex's room since they will now be sharing, & decorate the babies room all would be fine. I guess I just need to take it a day at a time. Oh yah, Sammy took the picture...she loves taking pictures, so I am sure there will be more of me coming. :)

Alex's First Day of Joy School

Alex was so excited to start school. He was a little disappointed to find out that the first class was at his own house, but he quickly got over that. He is doing a Joy School with 3 of his friends; Jack, Teleya, & Alton. His favorite part is "joy monkey", the puppet, who visits the boys and girls. He slept with him the first night and wouldn't let me put him back with the supplies. He is so grown up.

YOSEMITE!

We had the pleasure of going to Pine Mountain Lake over Labor Day Weekend with the Asay Family. We stayed at this great cabin, swam in the lake, visited Yosemite, hiked to Vernal Falls, canoed, & laughed long into the night.

Alex, Ben, Nathan, & Sammy were troopers on our hike. It was hard, but they did it. They had so much fun playing together & are truly best friends.

Our hike up to Vernal Falls.

Swimming in the lake. Sammy was very brave and would swim out (with floaties on of course) and touch the dock & further. Alex loved to splash & dig in the sand. The water felt great and the beach was shaded.

We rented a canoe and everyone had a chance to go for a ride. Sammy was very nervous because it was too wobbely, but with some coaxing she ended up loving it.

This is the great cabin that we stayed at. Some of our family's favorite features were a/c and tv, both of which we don't have. We stayed up late every night playing cames with Janet and Jason...it was seriously one of the best vacations we have ever taken!
