St. Augustine...Spring Break 2011

For Spring Break we headed up the Florida coast to St. Augustine, a city filled with history & fun! The children loved it! The only problem was the cheap hotel I chose. I learned my lesson and will spend a little more money for a few more stars! :)

Huge statue of the Saint who helped bring religion to the savages. Or to me just a really big statue by the ocean.

Castillo de San Marcos...a really old and big fort. It was amazing to see how they expanded it over the years using the only stone they had in the area...sea shells compressed into stone on the bottom of the ocean! Alex loved the huge cannons!

Infront of the oldest school house in America.

Swimming with dad...or actually soaking in the hot tub with dad because the water was too cold to swim in.

The Fountain of Youth...FYI don't drink the water...it tastes like sulfur!

St. Augustine lighthouse was my favorite! Sammy liked it too and climbed those steps twice to the top!
