Holiday Vacation 2012-Part 1

As I look back over our Holiday trip back to the USA it is hard to decide what to post about.  So you are forewarned there are lots of pictures to come.  We had a great vacation visiting with family.  I think with each visit we get better and better at doing this.

Had to take some pictures of our plane travels since we spend 2 days of our vacations doing it.  We can't complain much with flying business class (company pays).  My kids are spoiled and will be in shock when they have to make the move to economy.  I don't think they even remember what that is.
Allison asleep.  Poor thing coughed for almost the whole 10 hours.
Clara watches movie after movie and loves it.  She forgets that she has noise canceling head phones on and laughs/talks so loud.  We all just giggle at it.
Alex is in heaven.  He can watch movies, play video games, & eat the whole time.  He gets so bummed when we make him turn it off to sleep.
Sammy always seems to be sitting somewhere by herself, but manages to keep herself busy and happy.  Such a grown-up girl!

After our first night in Utah I left for a much needed girls night and the kids slept and played with their cousins.  I went with my mom, sister, Jami & Stephanie (sister-in-laws) and we shopped, ate, & played in Salt Lake City for the night.  The next morning we went to Music & the Spoken Word by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  They did a mini version of their concert they had given the night before and it was spectacular!  Then we headed back to our families & life.  A great start to the holidays!

Sammy & Clara crafting while mom and dad did dentist appointments & other errands.
Fun dinner with the Hobbs side.  My nephew, Camden, was diagnosed with Leukemia so my mom was able to rearrange her plans and spend most of her time with them in Arizona.  Since we could see her we quickly got together at Ryan & Steph's for dinner and FHE.  It was great!
Abbey & Clara...BFFs at first sight!
The other kids table.
Allison & Charlotte just love each other.  Allison still talks about Charlotte and all the fun they had.  She can't wait for her to come visit her!

The older kids were able to go to a BYU basketball game with Jared and his kids.  They had a great time!

Alex ate an extra large churro and everything else that night.  He paid the price later throwing up in the middle of the night.
Jared, Tylee, Porter, & Sammy watching some BBall.
Uncle Ben also came to the game...chilling on the way out.
 George & his BBall fans!

A true highlight of the trip was seeing the Nutcracker performed by Ballet West with the Broderick girls & grandma Gourley.
A quick bite to eat at Olive Garden before the show.
Clara, my little ballerina, was so excited for the ballet to start.  She enjoyed it, but was a little antsy towards the end & tired.
 The cousins.
 Me & my girls!
Grandma Gourley with her grandgirls.

The next day we spent the afternoon at the Dinosaur Museum.  The kids had a great time exploring & playing!

Afterwards we stopped for a 50 cent ice cream cone!  Can't pass that up even though it was so cold outside.

Grandma Gourley let the grandkids open their Christmas presents early so they could play with them.  They all got remote control cars except for Alex who got a remote control helicopter and Allison who got a monkey.  They had a blast playing with them!

We went with Grandpa Hobbs to look at the lights on Temple Square, eat some food, & watch a light show at the Planetarium.  It was a great time!
I just can't resist these shots!

Our little family in front of the SLC temple.
Cloud machine at the Planetarium kept them busy for quite a while.
Allison loved the popcorn and didn't want to share.
Before the show started.  Poor Alex got motion sickness and had to close his eyes.  But I loved it!
Desperate for the last few bits of popcorn!
Riding tracks back to the car.  We had a great time with Grandpa!
